PRINCIPAL'S MESSAGE

We at St. Bridget’s are grateful to you for your gifts and support during the past year which have added to the richness and vitality of our ministry. Once again, you helped us make a difference in the lives of our students and enhanced some programs at our school.

Your generosity enabled us to paint and tile the classrooms on the second floor, purchase a new math series for grades K-6, upgrade technology for the students and office personnel. Your gift also helped us to extend our foreign language department to include Spanish. As always, we continue to work on academic excellence while instilling religious values in our students.

We treasure the children in our care and take seriously our responsibility to provide them with a quality Catholic education in a loving environment. With your help, we will continue in this mission. Thank you for supporting us. May God bless you and your loved ones as you live each day in His love. Here is my blessing for you:

May an abundance of gratitude burst forth as you reflect upon what you have received.
May gratitude overflow in your heart and often be proclaimed in your prayer.
May the harvest of your good actions bring forth plentiful fruit each day.
May your basket of blessings surprise you with its rich diversity of gifts and its opportunities for growth and sharing.
May all that nourishes your life bring you daily satisfaction and renewed hope.
May you always be open, willing and ready to share your blessing with others.
May you never forget the Generous One who loved you lavishly and unconditionally.
- Joyce Rupp, Out of the Ordinary

Gratefully and lovingly,

Anne T. Carroll
Principal

MESSAGE FROM THE DEVELOPMENT OFFICE

St. Bridget’s School is blessed with an incredible family of supporters. Parents actively give their time, talents and resources to their children’s education. Alumni return to support the school and share memories. Parishioners show support for their church’s mission of Catholic education.

This wonderful generosity is reflected in the school’s success. It allows us to provide excellent academics, a state-of-the-art computer lab, and foreign language instruction at all grade levels. Funds raised at St. Bridget’s School also go a long way toward keeping tuition rates affordable for all who wish to come here.

WAYS TO SUPPORT ST. BRIDGET'S SCHOOL

Annual Gifts
The Annual Giving Fund is an important source of income for St. Bridget’s School. Tuition does not cover all of the expenses associated with the school, and unrestricted gifts raised through the Annual Giving Campaign allow the school to direct funding to the areas of greatest need.

We are so thankful for the loyal support and generosity of all our parents, grandparents, alumni, parishioners, vendors and friends of St. Bridget’s School. We are especially thankful for the support of our 2007-2008 co-chairs:
Al & Leslie Strickler and Kevin & Maureen Stengel. They make it easy for us to do our job.

Bequests and Special Gifts
St. Bridget’s School welcomes special gifts to ensure that its vital services continue into the future. As a non-profit organization, St. Bridget’s can be named as a full or partial beneficiary in a will, life insurance policy, annuity or trust fund. Donors are welcome to meet with St. Bridget’s development staff for more information or have their lawyers or accountants contact the school. Copies of St. Bridget’s tax-exempt certification and audited financial statements are available.

Honorary and Memorial Gifts
Many donors make gifts “in honor of” or “in memory of” a friend or family member. St. Bridget’s will send an appropriate letter to the person or family acknowledging the thoughtful gift.

Matching Gifts
If you are employed, retired or a board member of a company with a matching gift program, you may be able to double your gift to St. Bridget’s School. Please forward your corporation’s matching gift information to our development office along with your annual contribution.

Parent Teacher Organization (PTO)
St. Bridget’s School is lucky to have a very active Parent Teacher Organization (PTO.) The PTO organizes the school’s largest fundraising event, Oyster Roast, as well as the Springtacular. (See Special Events below for more details.) Funds raised each year help purchase computers and other new equipment for the school. The PTO also organizes the Back to School Picnic and Speaker Night as well as other parent, student and teacher activities.

Special Events
There are a variety of special events held throughout the year at St. Bridget’s School. They are opportunities for parents and supporters to get to know each other and have a good time while raising funds for the school. This year’s calendar includes the following events:

PTO Oyster Roast November 10, 2007
Girls' Night Out December 5, 2007
Catholic Schools Week Open House January 27, 2008
Fourth Annual Golf Tournament April 23, 2008

For more information on ticket sales or volunteer opportunities for any of these events, please call the Development Office at (804) 288-1994, ext. 305.

Stock Gifts
Making a gift via stock can reduce or eliminate capital gains tax and result in a charitable deduction for the full, appreciated value of the stock. St. Bridget’s will send stock transfer instructions upon request to your broker or agent.

Support the school by purchasing scrip, or gift certificates. Scrip may be purchased for dozens of national businesses including Kroger, Food Lion, Wal-Mart, Costco and Sam’s Club. Please click here for a complete listing of available scrip.
