St. Bridget's School Philosophy

As Catholics, we firmly believe that each of us is a unique individual made in the image and likeness of God. St. Bridget's School, through its philosophy of education, can contribute much to help all students, not only to attain their final goal of union with God, but also to aid them in becoming the person that God intended them to be on earth. The school provides a holistic approach to education, which takes into consideration the many facets of the individual: spiritual, physical, academic, emotional and social. With this approach, teachers attempt to develop each student's full potential and help the student form a positive self-image. Christian education also attempts to form the human person in relationship to self, to God and to fellow human beings. Through the teaching of Gospel values, St. Bridget's School prepares students to function as responsible stewards of God.

The interdisciplinary core curriculum which embraces a variety of religious and secular subjects is intended to develop responsible decision-making individuals. St. Bridget's School offers a curriculum based on process learning and strives to meet a standard of excellence in every subject area. A constant goal of faculty and staff is the establishment of an atmosphere fostering acceptance, understanding, sharing and cooperation with others.

The purpose of St. Bridget's School is to share in the threefold mission of the Church: to teach, to govern, and to sanctify. Catholic doctrine is taught and witnessed through the lives of the faculty and staff in order to create an atmosphere that fosters Christian values. It is expressed through our community worship. The school believes that family involvement and cooperation are essential in this endeavor. It encourages cooperation among parents, students, and all school personnel. Finally, St. Bridget's School is committed to foster and teach in all areas of the curriculum the concept that God is good.
